IN MEMORIAM

Robert Wesley Lund March 4, 1937-January 10th, 2022. "Bob" was a long-time member of the Friends of Crystal Beach and served as president from 2012-2015. He was also part of the group that worked so hard to support the realization of Waterfront Park as a place for picnics and gatherings now the site of our free Sunday Waterfront Park Concerts in  the summer.

Maureen was a loyal and important member of The Friends of Crystal Beach and served as Secretary from 2009 until 2012. She was a summer resident from Buffalo, New York and became a friend and supporter of Crystal Beach throughout the many years her family spent its summers in Crystal Beach.

She died on November 11, 2021.

 On September 26, 2019, we lost an icon of Crystal Beach.
Shirley came to Crystal Beach by way of Toronto where she moved as a teenager from her birthplace in Nova Scotia. She now rests in her family plot near Yarmouth.
As we celebrate her life, we also wish to preserve her memory for future generations of visitors and residents to the town she had such a great love for and for which she worked hard to make a better place. She was 94 years young and was the President and Treasurer of The Friends of Crystal Beach at the time of her death.
There was a dedication of a bench at Bay Beach that carries a plaque with her name. That bench faces out to Lake Erie from the place she championed and worked to preserve as a public beach.
We are ever so grateful she chose Crystal Beach as her home and her headquarters.
