What's Happening

June AGM and Regular Meetings held on June 29, 2022 at the Crystal Ridge Library were well-attended. Our American friends have returned! 

Lots to catch up on as we prepare to host our summer events after a two year absence. We have a new Director: Ben Dunkle. He is replacing the hard-working and loyal Ray Rivard who has retired. Membership dues collected ($6.00 single; $10.00 family;) bingo updates and assignments; future expenditures discussed; Ruth Bruyns provided a delicious cake for the meeting.

July Meeting was all about catching up on bingo funds and expenditures; beautification efforts for Fall decorations in Crystal Beach and future events.

Next meeting is on Wednesday, August 31 at the Crystal Ridge Library at 6:00 pm.

As we near the close of the first summer season since COVID caused a two-year pause, we can rejoice in the fact that Crystal Beach has come back stronger than ever. The public beach has seen record crowds and reached its capacity a number of times. A boutique hotel is about to open on Derby Road at the former Ontario Hotel. Lots of new businesses opened and  established businesses updated and expanded. Unfortunately, there will be no traditional End of Summer Parade this year, but there are plans to return it next year. Still to come this Fall is the 18th Annual Crystal Beach 5K Run. on Saturday, October 8, 2022. This year,  will begin a new tradition with the course beginning and ending at Sneakers on Erie Rd. in Crystal Beach. The 5K race begins at 11:00 am, with the 1K Kids Run starting at 10:15am.
