How is everyone dealing with a month's worth of isolation and social distancing? The Friends of Crystal Beach is working hard to keep up-to-date on the latest information from local, national and international sources to keep members informed.
The FOCB has been donating towards the Ridgeway Lions' efforts to feed people in the community. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday a week, people can pick up a free meal at the Crystal Ridge Community Centre from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Pictured are Lion Robby Robinson, Lion Bruce Schinkle and Lion Peter Grantham.
Once again, the Lake Erie shoreline was buffeted with high winds and flooding. Damage estimates are high. Photo by Rick Doan shows the high waves reaching over the break-wall at the site of the former Crystal Beach Amusement Park , now a gated community of beachfront homes.
The Sixth Annual Circle of Art Exhibition scheduled for Saturday July 18 may have to be cancelled due to the coronavirus. The FOCB Board will "meet" soon to make a decision about the COA, the Four Summer Sunday Concerts and The End of Summer Parade. The Town of Fort Erie has closed all beaches and parks, so the decision may be pre-determined if the closures remain through the summer. We'll keep you updated here or on Facebook.
We are staying true to our mandate to make Crystal Beach a better place to live, visit and enjoy by supporting other community groups who are working to support those affected by COVID-19. We have already donated $1000. to the Ridgeway Lions towards their free meal endeavor and will help as best we can in our community. Do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com if you need assistance or have any questions.
